As home to Orange County’s only academic medical center, UCI is uniquely positioned to advance medicine through leading-edge research and clinical trials. In close collaboration with the UCI School of Medicine, UCI Health has direct access to world-renowned scientists studying a full spectrum of disease including cancer, neurological disorders as well as research involving regenerative medicine.
Cancer
The UCI Health Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center in Orange County, has one of the largest early-phase clinical research programs in Southern California, giving patients access to promising experimental medicines in the very earliest studies.
At the Sue and Bill Gross Stem Cell Research Center, stem cells, and more broadly, regenerative medicine, are our business. Through this Center, UCI is positioned at the forefront of stem cell and regenerative medicine research. This dynamic center encompasses a diverse array of interdisciplinary investigators that span the UCI Schools of Medicine, Biological Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, Arts and Law.
RRI provides an internal mechanism for quality assurance, quality improvement and education, pursuant to regulations governing research financial compliance, research revenue integrity and research coordinators.
UCI Beall Applied Innovation - Industry Sponsored Research (ISR)
ISR supports researchers in negotiating agreements involving research funded by, or through, for-profit industry sponsors. This includes confidentiality and collaboration agreements, federally-funded subcontracts received through industry, and research contracts funded by major corporations.
UCI Institute for Clinical and Translational Science (ICTS)
The ICTS is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) under the Clinical and Translational Sciences Award Program. The ICTS is dedicated to advancing scientific discovery and medical breakthroughs.
The Office of Research is comprised of the Sponsored Projects Administration, Research Protections, and Electronic Research Administration and provides central campus administrative support for all of UCI’s research programs.
